It costs a lot to be authentic, madam. And one cannot be stingy with these things, because you are more authentic the more you resemble what you’ve dreamt of being.”

This excerpt from the beautiful "All about my mother" by Pedro Almodovar speaks of authenticity. The monologue is much less light and paradoxical than it seems. It is much more real and human than it would like to seem.
